MAATRAM Health Trust
A Preventive Healthcare NGO in Bangalore Building a Healthier Future for ALL
Dr. Deepak M.R. (Consultant Diabetologist and Family Physician ) and Dr. Divya. N (Consultant Diabetologist and Family Physician ) founded MAATRAM Health Trust in 2025 with a clear, urgent purpose – addressing the widening gap between medical knowledge and community health outcomes.
Their cumulative clinical experience of 20+ years revealed a recurrent, distressing pattern: several individuals, particularly women, don’t seek medical attention at the right time. They go to doctors only when largely preventable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, anaemia, and women’s health concerns have progressed to advanced stages. At these advanced stages, serious complications have already developed and long-term treatments or hospitalization become necessary. This causes serious financial and emotional distress to families, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds.
In a majority of these cases, silent contributors to disease progression and avoidable complications are not a lack of treatment options, but a lack of awareness, limited access to reliable medical information, and social stigma. This realisation led the establishment of our healthcare trust in Bangalore, built on a simple yet powerful belief:
The right awareness at the right time can prevent suffering, reduce financial burden, and preserve the quality of life.
